If you head down the track, past the mill and the survey post, around the bend, the old mining track crosses the rails and there's a grassy spot that gets plenty of sun. Nobody goes down there but log trucks, just look out for snakes and sugar ants and you'll be alright. Maybe bring some copper coins and wait for the steel train to press them flat...with any luck you'll be able to find them in the rocky ballast.
